Share what's working, what needs fixing, and how you can help. Every voice shapes a stronger village.

Your neighbourhood, your voice

The Canadian Village Project is built on the belief that the people who live in a community know it best. Whether you want to celebrate something good, flag a challenge, propose a solution, or offer your time and skills — this is the place.

Submissions are reviewed by our team and shared (with your permission) on the community board below. Together, we build the map of what makes Canadian neighbourhoods thrive.

What neighbours are saying

Real voices from communities across Canada.

Something good
"The new community garden on Augusta Ave has brought so many neighbours together. People who never spoke are now sharing seeds, recipes, and stories."

Maria T.

Kensington Market, Toronto ON ·

Needs improvement
"We need better lighting on Cyr Avenue after dark. Seniors and families avoid the street at night. A simple fix that would make a real difference."

Jean-Paul R.

Vanier, Ottawa ON ·

A solution
"What if we turned the empty lot on Commercial Drive into a free tool library? Neighbours could borrow drills, ladders, and garden tools instead of everyone buying their own."

Priya S.

East Vancouver, BC ·

Offering services
"I'm a retired nurse and I'd love to offer free blood pressure checks and health conversations at the local community centre. Just need a space and a few hours a week."

Danielle M.

Plateau-Mont-Royal, Montréal QC ·

Something good
"Our block association started a monthly potluck last spring. Thirty families, twelve countries, one table. This is what community looks like."

Ahmed K.

Inglewood, Calgary AB ·

Needs improvement
"The bus shelter on Selkirk Ave has been broken for two years. Seniors wait in the cold and rain. We've reported it three times. Someone needs to listen."

Rose B.

North End, Winnipeg MB ·
